Iowa, April 2009

The PA team competed in the National AAU tournament and brought home the National Championship in dominating fashion.  In their opening match they beat Montana 89-3.  In their next 2 qualifier dual matches they posted shutouts beating Kansas 89-0 and and South Dakota 102-0.  They received the top seed in the Championship bracket and started it off with a 115-0 victory over the North Dakota Stripes.  Next up were the South Dakota AAU All-Stars and they beat them 103-3. It ended a win streak of 79 consecutitive match wins.

Team PA, now in the Quarter Finals, comes out and smokes Michigan 60-12.  They follow that up with a resounding victory in the Semi’s with a 50-20 win over Missouri.  For the National Championship they faced host Iowa and beat them 46-27!

Congratulations to David Abbondanza for placing 4th at the MAWA West Regional Championships.  He qualified for the National Championship Tournament but opted not to go. Good Job Biscuit…keep up the good work.

Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
 
Where: Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center (Bubbles)
 
What: We have been asked to assist in the tearing down and moving of the bubbles
 
Who: Any wrestler in grades 9-12 and any wrestling parent (We need a minimum of 20 wrestlers/ 8-10 adults)
 
Why: We have the potential of raising $1,200+ in one day for our program.
